Education
I am a therapist with over 12 years of experience directing the therapy process with clients who have had highly varied therapeutic concerns. I am a “Triple Dawg,” as I have completed 3 degrees from the University of Georgia, including a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Guidance & Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. During my doctoral degree, I also completed a program which included additional coursework and supervision to earn a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I can also provide a referral for psychological testing and personality assessments.
Experience
I have worked with clients of all ages in many settings, including a college counseling center, a school for children ages 5 to 22 with emotional and behavioral disorders, an adult outpatient mental health clinic, a day treatment center for adults with severe psychiatric disorders, private practice, and also a substance abuse treatment center. In recent years, I worked at the University of Georgia’s Disability Resource Center, reviewing psychological evaluations and helping a 200+ caseload of college students find appropriate accommodations and strategies for academic success. I can also provide Christian-based therapy upon request. I now join the group of professionals at the Athens Center for Counseling and Play Therapy to work with adults, children, couples, and families. I am pursuing licensure in the state of Georgia after completing my postdoctoral fellowship at ACCPT. I have particular interest in working with those who are dealing with relational concerns such as:
